4 C. APPLE SLICES
8 C. water
1/2 C. granulated sugar
2 t. cinnamon
3/4 C. Brown sugar
1/2 c. MARGARINE POWDER, lightly packed
In a large saucepan, bring apples, water, granulated sugar and 1 t. cinnamon to a rapid boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes. Drain off all but about 1 cup liquid. Meanwhile, mix brown sugar, margarine and 1 t cinnamon and water. Preheat oven to 325' F. Arrange fruit in lightly greased large casserole dish. Sprinkle sugar-butter mixture over top. Bake uncovered for 1 hour.
VARIETIES: Use any of the low-moisture fruits i.e., PEACH SLICES, FRUIT GALAXY, etc.
Add ½ c. rolled oats to the sugar-margarine mixture for a crispy texture.
